|About the Book|
Cute little train story. However, for a kid’s story there was an awful lot of bullying and teasing on the part of other characters such as the roan horse. Yes, one could argue coming across an occasional bullying incident is a part of life, but the author’s treatment of the incident is what I’m not in agreement with. Little Blacknose uses the energy of upset feelings to power his journeys (good, fine) but the implication is that without the bullying he would not have performed as well. Not a great message, that proving others wrong is the only measure of success.
